Lael Wilcox shoe insoles for cycling

Lael Wilcox - Born to Ride

Lael Wilcox is an ultra-distance cyclist. Born in Anchorage, Alaska in 1987 she won the 2016 Trans Am Bike Race on her first attempt, becoming the first American winner, male or female. Measuring 4,400 miles the Trans Am is the premier self-supported bike race across the continental United States. The previous year, in 2015, Lael set the women’s record for the Tour Divide, a bike race from Banff, Canada to the Mexican border with a total race distance of 2,745 miles. These feats as well as those that followed led Bicycling Magazine in 2019 to describe Lael Wilcox as the ‘fastest ultra-endurance racer in the world.’

In 2024, she set the record for the fastest woman to bike around the world.
